About

Pocket Lap started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other download links at midnight. We got tired of app store descriptions that promised the world and delivered a loading screen, so we decided to write down what we actually thought after playing.

Everything here comes from hands-on time. Someone on the team installs the game, plays it for at least a few sessions, and takes notes on how the controls feel, whether the difficulty curve makes sense, and if it's still fun on the third day. Only then does a review go up.

We lean toward racing and arcade games because that's what we love, but we cover RPGs, strategy, adventures and casual titles too. Variety keeps us honest and stops us from grading everything on the same curve.

Nobody pays us to like their game. When something disappoints us, we say so, and we explain why so you can decide if our gripe matters to you.

Lukas Meyer — Lukas has been playing arcade racers since the days of feature phones and now edits every review before it goes live. He still insists tilt controls are underrated.
